STONE SETTING PENDANT WORKSHOP

Join Urban Alchemy at FORM metal studio for a focused and creative metalsmithing experience—design and craft your own customizable pendant featuring a beautiful 6mm stone of your choice.

In this hands-on 5-hour workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of sawing, soldering, and stone setting while creating a one-of-a-kind pendant from start to finish. Choose from a variety of 6mm stone options, then saw and solder your stone setting onto a pendant you’ve designed and customized yourself. This is your chance to slow down, get creative, and leave with something truly personal to wear.

While I will briefly go over soldering and be hands-on, previous metalsmithing experience is required for entry into this workshop.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

• Pendant design
• Hammering and stamping metal
• Sawing and filing metal
• Soldering techniques with heat control
• Working with a 6mm stone bezel setting
• Stone setting techniques
• Finishing and polishing your pendant

One custom pendant featuring a 6mm stone of your choice—designed, handcrafted, and finished by you.

MATERIALS

Sterling Silver Material Kit: $60
Includes sterling silver and your selected 6mm stone.

Copper + Sterling Bezel Option: $20
Choose a copper base with a sterling silver bezel instead of the full sterling silver option. Includes selected stone.

Sterling Silver Curb Chain: $30
Optional add-on, available for purchase at the studio.

WHAT TO BRING

• Hair tie (if you’ve got long hair)
• Glasses (if needed for detail work)
• Magnifying glasses (if you have difficulty seeing small objects)
• Earplugs (optional—hammering can get loud!)
• Good vibes + excitement to try something new

THE SPACE

FORM metal studio is located on the second level of the Studio Arts building on 15th Ave. Due to the age and design of the building, there is no elevator.

Not recommended for those with mobility concerns due to the large flight of stairs required to access the studio and a fair amount of standing during the workshop.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Spots are limited to keep the experience intimate.
• Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred with notice.
• Creative flow can run overtime. Please allow an extra 30 minutes just in case.
• Stone selection is based on the options available at the studio.
• Pendant designs are customizable, but all designs must be suitable for the materials and techniques covered in the workshop.

Come solo or bring a friend! Either way, you’ll leave with a unique stone-set pendant, a new metalsmithing skill, and something beautiful you made yourself.
